What is CO2 Extraction
The extraction process that removes CBD from hemp plays an important role in a product’s quality. For example, products made with a solvent extraction contain chemical contaminants that can be harmful to your cat. But, CBD products made with a clean, CO2 extraction don’t include these chemicals, making them safer for your pet.
In a CO2 extraction, hemp is cultivated and dried. Then, pressurized CO2 gas is run through the hemp material inside a contained chamber. This process strips the cannabinoids (including CBD) from the plant without using chemical solvents. The CO2 evaporates and leaves behind pure, untainted CBD.
