CBD FOR DOGS… HOW DOES IT WORK?

Given what you’ve already heard about the effects of CBD oil on humans, it might seem a little strange to go off and buy CBD for dogs, or to think about giving CBD to your pets.

However, what few people realize is that active cannabidiol (CBD) works by interacting with endocannabinoid receptors that exist in nearly all life forms on earth – including dogs. What this means is that, from a physiological standpoint at least, hemp CBD for dogs functions in much the same way that it does in humans.

Most pet owners use pure CBD for dogs to try and ease stress that stems from the dog being separated from their owner or even symptoms that come with old age.

We’ve received feedback from satisfied customers that a simple morning helping (or perhaps a morning and evening helping) of CBD treats has worked wonders in improving their dog’s mood, and/or simply giving them a better quality of life.

CBD FOR PETS… HOW MUCH TO GIVE THEM?

When you buy CBD for pets, it can be really tough knowing exactly how much to give them, or if the amount you do give them is even working at all. That’s why we’ve spent so much time trying to perfect our Stacey’s CBD Oil formula, which we believe by now is one of the best in the industry.

We’ve created two different varieties of CBD treats based on your dog’s size – one for large dogs and one for small dogs.

However, the range is far more inclusive than this might seem, as the small dog treats tend to scale on the more “minimal” side, while the large dog treats scale on the “maximum” side. In other words, you can use quarter, half, or three-quarter sized treats in order to try and perfect the amount that your pet is getting.

NOT ALL HEMP TREATS FOR DOGS ARE MADE THE SAME!

One thing you really need to be aware of when buying CBD for pets is to realize that there is a huge discrepancy between manufacturers in terms of the quality of products that are out there on the market. Given that CBD is so new to the market, many companies out there are taking advantage of the loose regulations surrounding the nature of the industry.

In other words, they are effectively marketing “hemp treats” or “CBD for dogs” that contains virtually no active cannabidiol whatsoever (cannabidiol is the scientific name for CBD).

They are getting away with this by using hemp seed extract or hemp powders, rather than actual CBD extract that is taken from the leaves and flowers of industrial hemp plants. While hemp seeds contain beneficial plant protein and are highly nutritious in their own right, they don’t actually contain any of the CBD compound that is believed to interact with the Endocannabinoid System.

Is it safe to give my pet CBD?
At Stacey’s CBD Oil, we use the same high-quality CBD extract for dog treats and our other products that we use for the rest of our range. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us directly. You should also consult a veterinarian before beginning a course of CBD for your pet.
How is CBD for pets different than CBD for humans?
The ingredients are the same for pets as they are for humans, and so is the extraction process. It is important that CO2 extraction is used for pet products rather than using solvents to extract the CBD. CBD interacts with our endocannabinoid system (ECS), and guess what? Pets (and almost every life form on Earth) also have an ECS! Therefore, CBD functions for pets similarly to how it works on humans. The difference is that we have flavored our pet-specific products so your animal actually wants to eat them. Otherwise, you may have a very hard time getting ‘Sparky’ to eat his CBD dog treat.
What are some reasons to try giving my pet CBD?
Our customers have a long list of reasons why they would consider giving CBD to their pets. For instance, we have received feedback from delighted customers who said that giving their dogs CBD helped support a better quality of life. Others have used Stacey’s CBD to help younger dogs who have separation issues. Please note that like CBD for humans, our CBD products are not designed to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent diseases in pets.
Will CBD make my pet feel “high”?
Absolutely not. CBD is known a non-intoxicating compound that does not get animals or humans high. Our pet CBD products contain less than 0.3% THC, which means you don’t have to worry about your pet becoming high.
How do I know which product to get for my pet?
At Stacey’s CBD Oil, we like to keep things simple. Our range of hemp dog treats come in two sizes: One for large dogs and one for small dogs. Our ‘small dog’ range contains 1mg per treat, while there is 2.5mg per treat in our ‘large dog’ range. We recommend starting off by giving a dog weighing less than 10 pounds one 1mg treat. You can increase the amount by half a treat (0.5mg of CBD) for every 10 pounds of weight. Therefore, a 20-pound dog would consume 1.5mg while a 30-pound dog would consume 2mg and so on. Our larger treats are designed for dogs weighing 40 pounds or more, but this is an estimation. Make sure you start with a small amount and work your way up.
Can I give my dog human CBD oil?
We do not recommend giving your dog CBD oil designed for humans, as the concentration is typically higher than you would want. Remember, it is estimated that even a large dog who weighs over 40 pounds would need no more than 2.5mg of CBD. Humans regularly use 5-10 times more than that amount on a daily basis. Stacey’s CBD oil, capsules and other products for humans are not recommended for pets – hence the reason why we have a pet-specific range.
How much CBD oil should I give my dog?
Remember, we do not suggest giving our standard CBD oils to your pet. We do however offer several CBD treats for pets that are specially formulated for your dog, and come in convenient sizes. Our CBD treats for pets are specially formulated for your dog, and come in convenient sizes. If you elect to use CBD oil, it becomes trickier to take an accurate measurement. If you go down this route, try to stick to the baseline recommendation of 1mg for a dog weighing 10 pounds or less, and an extra 0.5mg for every 10 pounds of weight.
Wondering how to give CBD oil to dogs?
Again, we do not recommend giving Stacey’s CBD oil to your dog or pet. Giving our delicious CBD dog treats to your pet, however, is a breeze. There are several methods of giving CBD oil to a dog, but our treats make it incredibly easy! If you do decide to use a CBD oil for your pet, do so at your own discretion and always speak with a veterinarian beforehand.
